Freight Account Manager

The Account Manager is responsible for driving revenues by recruiting new customers and maintaining existing relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop sales strategy to achieve sales goals and revenues
  • Retaining and expanding Customer base
  • Determine pricing and rate schedules by collecting industry trends.
  • Download, rate and upload Requests for Pricing
  • Execute customer setup process once business is awarded
  • Make at least 100 cold calls per day to potential customers
  • Conduct market research on competitor and customer analysis
  • Hold Capacity Manager accountable to their weekly goals
  • Review operational reports to determine profitability
  • Present to Capacity Manager all documentation to perform their job function.
  • Obtaining necessary documentation for fuel and accessorial charges specific to Shipper.
  • Monitor customer preferences to determine sales effort
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding sales, service and contract issues
  • Responsible for maintaining goals and reporting weekly to Manager
  • Perform any other duties that my be assigned or required
